Pick-up lines of a cocain girl

Yesterday I started to chill down, trying to land mentally after yet another week of "work load on acid".

With sunglasses on, having beer at Snaps, Stockholm, nagging with Captain Chaos and his business partner, a dark-haired girl walked up to my chair:
-Where are you from?, she asked.
-Sweden, I replied.
-Really?
-Yup. Why?
-Well, the blond girl over there would like to talk to you.

A bit behind her was a bleach, yellow-blond girl with visably blonder extensions were standing adding too much pink lip-gloss to her face while fumbling with her bag.

Darn.

But what the heck, I am off duty, and do not mind an "inteteresting" conversation.

-Tell her to come sit here, then.

Then later scenes contained of akward hand-shakings with stiff female hands, Captain Chaos trying to get a cig having to pay for it, the dark-haired talking loudly on her phone trying to have someone to pay her rent not to loose her apartment, then showing her son on her mobile saying "his dad claims I'm not a good mother", the blond next to her shaking her leg continously, trying to close her hand bag where a package of condoms was the most notifyable item, smoking contiously, then adding more lip-gloss, correcting her bra and touching her natural D cup, pushing her hand down her crotch, rubbing her bare ancle against my arm while smiling strangely (flirty I guess) and both of them talking, but having flat faces most of the times when we tried to talk with them, waiting a while, then talking again.

Me: What do you work with?
Blond: I do not want to work.
Dark-haired: I am on sick leave. I am over-worked.

When the dark-haired were gone, the blond went to the ladies room. When coming back she was even more inward but a lot happier. She even burst out in a loud laughter while making strange dance moves with her hands, looking at the sky.

Then it struck me:
Why go to Ukraine when I have my future wife right in front of me?

Budget with a view

Being young I wished for only to need a phone, a computer and a back-pack to be able to work.
I guess I'm there.
After trying to get the latest budget together for more than a week, I just finished it in my small rental BMW with a freshly made cappucino at my side, my favorite music in my ears and looking out over the sun setting behind the mountains surrounding a Norwegian fjord.

Moments like this make the seven-days-a-week work all worth it. :-)

Time to head to my friends in Oslo.

See ya!

Flying at night - me too now! :-)

The darkness is coming to an end here in Sweden. Nah, it's not all blonds have went to school, but the summers here are so bright. That is why so many babies are made in Sweden during summer nights. Blond guys actually find their way.

But in my case, who always find my way, I sat waiting in a Piper PA28 for the dark to settle, so I could to my last training session to get my darkness certificate. The sky was almost clear and just a light wind was floating over SAAB airfield ESSL in Linköping. The last bit of light was streaming from the West while I was climbing up to 3500 ft towards Finspång. This last session meant I was flying alone and the teacher was sitting at the club hoping I would make it. I did. So now after doing a touch-and-go at Skavsta ESKN and a full stop at ESSL I am allowed to fly at night/dark.

See ya in the sky!

Training shoot in Sälen this weekend

My work schedule just went  through the ceiling! There is no chance in hell I will be able to do the things I need, not even the most important one. Solution: take a break, get some rest and re-plan.

So I will go to Sälen this weekend. Since I really need to find some more good models and I especially need to try some make-up artists. So, anyone up for some free pictures this weekend together with a free stay in Sälen? We have a nice, pretty large, cottage house for the stay, and will use indoor and maybe outdoor location in Sälen.

I will travel from Stockholm to Sälen on Friday late afternoon, so if you would like to get a free ride there, it is fine with me. Good to know though is that I will go to Oslo from Sälen on Sunday, so we will have to find another way to get you home if you go with me from Stockholm.

Gostbusting Gothenburg

Second try with Gostbuster's rig. This time with Hiram the Hairdresses and a make-up artist of his. It's fun!
I look absolutely stupid, like the hutchback from Notredame doing Gostbusting. But!! You can move! You can shooy guerilla style and thank God my strange poses do not show up in the pictures.

If the weather is fine so I can fly back tomorrow pretty early, I will put them here and on Facebook.

So how do I work the rig?
Since I cannot reach the lever for the power, I put it on medium power to get an aperture around 8 for closer shots. By this I can go down in aperture when moving away from the model, and the opposite getting closer. I use the range.
With my left hand I position the dish and with both hands I can adjust the stand, getting the dish higher or lower.

Traveling light

The light equipment I have is a lead battery base portable one, Profoto Pro-7B, and that is a heavy one. Normally I travel with all my my gear and that is about 40-50 kg. That is nothing want to bring in an airplane.

So this time I went for simplicity. One lens and only the Gostbuster's rig. So for the shoot in Gothenburg I will have fewer options. But that is good! I truly believe you need challenges to become good, how to find The Picture under difficult circumstances. On a commercial shoot you do not have time to test things-you have to know your toolbox, but on a friend's shoot like this with time for challenges it might give you new tools.
Or just screw up your pictures giving you sour models on your back... :-)

The clouds are lifting. Time to get in the plane.

Mooney training

Time to take my favorite airplane out for a spin: Mooney M20J SE-LBV.
This time with an instructor to fresh up my skills on the type, kind of type PC.
The sun just broke out of the clouds so I reallt do not mind!
Good timing with the PC; if everything goes well I can take LBV to Gothenburg to visit the photography fair and do the shoot with Hiram.

See ya there!

"She said she was 18!"

Yesterday, after a couple of beer, it happened again...

First  time was in 2005 before the days of Morre Photography's now pretty funky models' database. A model sent me an email to our modelsearch email saying she was interested in working with me. I browsed through her specified data and looked at the included pictures of a pretty fit, beautiful, 18 year's old blond girl with seemingly newly invested breast. When looking at her topless pictures an eerie feeling arrived...
"Her name... Her surname... That is the same as my first chairman of the board in my former company Roxen. Could it be? Nah? She lives in this city but do they live on the same address?"
So I checked her up on the yellow pages .
"Pheew! She does not have the same address as him."
A couple of days later I bumped into here down town and after addressing her almost the first thing she says is :
"Yeah, and you know my dad!"
Gaaah! This was her! The little girl I have been playing with at my colleagues house, riding on my shoulders laughing was now grown up, standing in front of me ten years later! Some fuses blew in my head! It is just... weird!
It's like: Does her dad knows about her doing topless pictures?
And the mindset as her as the little innocent, shy girl laughing on my shoulders do not mix at all with the trying-hard-to-be-sexy girl in front of me.

And yesterday it was time again. I was getting home with my friends after a couple of beers, Morre on stage singing karaoke, and the late night kebab when I heard someone calling.
"Morre! Morre!"
I turned around and an 18 year's old blond girl was smiling towards me so I approach her.
She says "Hi!" and she probably see my confused face so she then says "I am xxx" and telling me here name.
The problem is I am horrible with names! I cannot remember them!
But she had a pretty unusual name, so after repeating it and saying the magic words "My dad is XXX" i finally got it.
Oh! Once again pictures of me playing with a little kid rushes over me. I guess it was twelve years ago I saw her at a dinner at my colleague's house, and played with her having fun. She was 6 then!

I learned over the years so this time I do not show at all what is going on inside my, just making some jokes about it, and she continues:
"I wanna take nude pictures or at least really sexy ones! Or nude! I have a friend, I want her to join to! We can be naked both. Yeah, I already had sex with her."
For me it's fine. I have seen everything, heard everything and experienced a lot, and during a shoot it is just work.
So I guess I could help here and her probably also 18 year's old friend.
Or... Well you know... Her dad would kill me if I do!!!

So what should I do? I mean, everyone that is 18 or older has the right to make their own decision and why should not people I know be able to get good pictures. On the other hand that would be risking my friendship with my old colleague.

What is right? Tell me.

/Morre

PS. The title is one of my favorite standard jokes. Why not try it yourself:
If someone yells at you "WHAT have you done!?" and you have no idea what they are talking about, just shout back "She said she was 18!"
Or if someone wakes you up on the sofa just sit up straight and shout the same.
Works every time. :-)
This is the first one I am talking about. Yup, we did shoot and she is still funny and lovely.

First longboard ride

Yeaaah! First ride of this season was done on my way to a business meeting for our secret project. Yup, it will be something nice for photograpers and models.

And I will ride some longboard together with Alex of http://longboard.eu when we take an airplane and go to an event i Norway 22-24 April. And I will go to Bergen & Trondheim on my portfolio tour. So you NO models, keep your eyes open. :-)

Part of a chain

I'm on a meeting with a client trying to synk whole process from sales team to the final print.

Being a commercial photographer is more about collaboration and communication. A good picture is a lot of time the result of good preparation, at least it inceases the probability to get it right.

What do the client want to communicate? What style do they prefer? And just easy things like who should be in the picture can go wrong if not the sales team do their job.

Free as a photographer? Nah, more like free within boundaries.
I've been framed! :-)

Ghostbuster's gear: the results

Staying at a three star hotel is not the best location you can get, but what the heck—the shoot was all about testing a new lighting gear and having some beers with friends.
The biggest problem with the rig was getting the light stand to not tilt from side to side in the backpack. When doing you could not move around without being sh*t scared of dropping the beauty dish or getting the light in the right directions. Some assistant from my friends and some silver tape took care of the problem, but I will modify the newly bought backpack so the small light stand I used will not be able to move at all sideways.

The second problem was moving around. You feel like an unbalanced ghost buster moving around with that thing on your back and over your head, and you can easily bump into signs and doorways.
But as soon as you are outside it works ! Even so, I found it better to be alone and not using any B light, since having having to instruct an assistant was cumbersome. With the Ghostbuster gear you have enough to do just handle your own dish and camera at the same time. The light was good though, but I guess two assistants is better for a main-n-B-light shoot.

But I found the way of using it once we started playing around with it in front of the hotel. Since the crowd filling Elmia Motor Show was this weekend, we had a bit of an audience since many of the stay at the same hotel.
Just to give the audience the show they came for a started shouting instructions "as seen on TV" to Angelica and Jenny:
-Work the camera, bitch!
-Yeah! You look sexy! More like that!
-Show me your f*cking tits!
and similar could be heard miles away... :-)

Well, here is the unedited shots from the beer session. More pictures on Facebook.

Satellite shoot?

Sooooo... What do you do if want good light but want to move fast? Normally I have two assistants, one with the backpack and the main light, and the other assistant with the B light. Tonight I will try if you can do it alone or with just one assistant.

Later folks! :-)

Elmia - here I come!

Just too much stuff being a photographer. I will try a new idea developing my rock-n-roll way of shooting. This time I will try to do it without assistants. That means to strap on the equipment on myself.

Starting up the blog for real

So I am back on Facebook: new account—same Morre. :-)
I hope this time people will not be "offended" by my pictures and report me. I hope they get a lot of bad karma... Yikes! Probably gave me some bad to just wishing that.

This week has been hectic as usual. Black and white portrait in my "studio" (that is a room in our office), cover shoot for LKPG Magazine with the renowned football player Josephine Öqvist.

Oh! On Tuesday I had my last dual lesson for my dark pilot certificate. That meant a trip with my little sister and the instructor to Norrköping and Skavsta. We did not use my favorite airplane, the Mooney M20J, but a Piper PA28 - a very friendly airplane but slow. When entering Skavsta airspace: "Sierra Echo Kilo India India - please keep up speed. Inbound traffic."
Then I looked over my shoulder and saw some lights behind me. Gaaah!
It is impossible to go fast in a PA28! And seeing the lights of a Boing 737 behind you is... interesting. :-)
Then we heard them over the radio: "Ryanair 473 inbound...". Of course they where far away but you work up some sweat anyway.

So it was: fast approach, when airspeed below 100 kt - full flaps at once, and then we had to start the flare, quick touch-n-go, the right out after climbing above 500 ft. That was fun!
Later, while maintaining 2500 ft, we navigated from Skavsta to Stegeborg, with no navigational aid (the instructor turned them off). Pretty hard in the dark at that low altitude, but I made it.

I better stop this and start to take care of the back side of shooting - all these pictures to deliver.

Happy Easter!
